ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

PATIO DOOR ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Ensure that door opening is rectangular, plumb and level.

2. "O" is a fixed panel, and "X" is a vent panel.

3. All directions are assuming you are looking at the door from the outside.

2 PANEL DOOR (OX or XO)

1. Assemble outside frame using 8 #8 x 3/4" screws provided.  Use good caulk under sill.  Caulk joints at jambs and threshold.

2. Set frame in opening, observing "hand" of door, plumb, square & fasten with #8 x 1-1/2" wood screws provided.  If door is set on concrete, use 1/4" masonry drill through holes in threshold, drop in plugs (not provided) and screw down firmly with same wood screws.  Brick fin may be used or broken off at score, depending on need.

3. Set vent panel on inside track.  If panel has a keyed lock, first put the mortise lock in the locked position.  Next, remove the key from the cylinder and then install the cylinder into the outside handle.  Last, install the handle and replace the key.

4. Set fixed panel on outside, with caulk in outside groove, and shove fully into jamb.  Drill through hole in angle at bottom of interlock and fasten to threshold with screw provided.  Remove top screw on interlock, put loose angle on screw and replace.  Use small plastic sponge to fill gap at top of fixed interlock.

5. Vent panel wheels are adjustable from front and back.  Locking hook is adjustable in and out with screw second from top.  Strike plate is adjustable by slightly loosening screws and moving up and down.

3 PANEL DOOR - OXO REQUIRING "FALSE JAMB"

1. Assemble frame as before and install OXO Mullion (false jamb) before putting frame in opening.  Head and threshold are drilled for proper location.

2. Remove Mullion Cover and set fixed panel in place.  This panel is the same on both sides - no interlock.

3. Replace Mullion Cover using blunt pointed screws provided.

4. Proceed as in 2 panel doors.

4 PANEL DOOR - OXXO XX DOORS WHICH LOCK TOGETHER

1. Assemble frame as before and install XX / OXXO yokes to outside of locking vent stiles.  Note that yokes are predrilled and milled to accept locking hardware.

GLAZING FIXED PANELS

1. Place vinyl around glass.

2. Place top rail on glass, mohair weather strip to the outside.

3. Place bottom rail on glass.

4. Place interlock stile on glass with weather strip to the inside.
           If OX, interlock goes on the right side of glass.
           If XO, interlock goes on the left side of glass.

5. Place fixed stile on glass, weather strip to the outside.

6. Insert one #10 x 1-1/2" Phillips truss head screw at each corner.

7. Remove backing from small foam block and place at top of interlock.

8. Lock in with angle.

GLAZING VENT PANELS

1. Place vinyl around glass.

2. Place top rail on glass, mohair weather strip to the outside.

3. Place bottom rail on glass, weather strip to the outside.

4. Place interlock stile on glass, smooth surface inside.
           If OX, interlock stile goes on the left side of glass.
           If XO, interlock stile goes on the right side of glass.

5. Place lock stile on glass with U-shaped notch at bottom.
           If OX, lock stile goes on the right side of glass.
           If XO, lock stile goes on the left side of glass. 

6. Place vinyl sweep weather strip insert in bottom of lock stile, facing out.

7. Insert one #10 x 1-1/2" Phillips truss head screw at each top corner, one 1/4 x 20 x 1-1/4" at bottom lock stile corner, one 1/4  x 20 x 1-1/2" at interlock stile bottom.

8. Install lock set portion with Formica insert to inside of door.
